From the perspective of the cost structure of the charging pile, the EV Charger Module accounts for about 40% of the cost of the charging system. Its core function is to convert the AC power in the grid into DC power that can charge the battery. The key to the charging module is the MOS switch. When the charging module is working, the three-phase AC power source is rectified and filtered, and then it becomes a DC input voltage for the DC/DC conversion circuit. The controller acts on the power switch MOS tube through the drive circuit to convert the rectified and filtered DC voltage into an AC voltage. At this time, the AC voltage is pulse width modulated. Then, the AC voltage is transformed and isolated by a high-frequency transformer, and rectified and filtered again to obtain a DC pulse, which then charges the battery pack.
Cost and price analysis of charging module
The EV Charger Module is mainly composed of: semiconductor power devices, integrated circuits, magnetic components, PCBs, capacitors, chassis fans, etc. The main cost structure is that semiconductor power devices account for about 30%, semiconductor integrated circuits account for 10%, magnetic components account for 25%, PCBs account for 10%, capacitors account for 10%, and other chassis fans account for about 15%. %. In recent years, with the large-scale practical application of the EV Charger Module, through continuous experiments and repeated verifications, most of the components of the charging module are gradually realizing localization under the condition that their stability and safety are fully guaranteed, and the corresponding cost Gradually decreases.
 
As the key technology of the EV Charger Module, the semiconductor power device MOS tube is difficult to process, and currently it is mainly dependent on imports. Although the strategic opportunity period for my country's semiconductor industry is coming, and the domestic demand for mainstream mid- to-high-end MOS transistors has increased, a dual-channel industrial chain of IDM and foundry models has been formed. Leading companies have already possessed independent production capabilities and localized alternatives. It is advancing, but there is still a certain gap. Under the influence of the current Sino-US trade war and the global epidemic, the bargaining power of individual companies is weak. This part of the cost change has the effect of uncertainty, and a price recovery rebound cannot be ruled out. In general, the gross profit margin of charging modules has been decreasing and showing a trend of declining year by year.
